Warren Bell, Jr. is the Associate Vice President for University & Media Relations at Xavier University of Louisiana, where he leads all communications and marketing efforts. A native of New Orleans, Bell has been a well-established presence in broadcast journalism and local media for nearly 40 years as a news anchor and talk show host, in addition to producing numerous acclaimed documentaries. He became New Orleans' first African American weekday prime-time TV news anchor in 1977, and covered all of the city’s milestone events over the years including elections, hurricanes, presidential conventions, etc.At Xavier since 2003, Bell has overseen an overhaul of the university web site www.xula.edu, as well as establishment of an online News Bureau providing a wealth of campus information. He also implemented the university’s first-ever emergency communications plan before Hurricane Katrina – establishing a toll-free phone number plus an emergency web site to keep faculty, staff and students abreast of campus recovery efforts after the historic storm.  Bell is a member of the Committee for a Better New Orleans/Metropolitan Area Committee (CBNO/MAC) as well as the Medical Center of Louisiana Foundation. He and his family are active members of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.

  DR. JUDITH MIRANTI

Dr. Judith Miranti has been in higher education for the past thirty years. She has been an academic administrator for twenty five of those years having served in various positions as a chairperson of Education, dean of undergraduate and graduate studies, and as a vice president for academic affairs. After her brief retirement, she is currently serving as the Director of Education at Xavier University of Louisiana. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
